In fact, as our COO, I have been so obsessed with crafting a comfortable patient experience that I have personally spent well over 100 hours inside various MRI machines—testing for noise levels, temperature controls, equipment configurations, different types of clothing, etc. Every detail matters, and I have been involved with every decision that impacts patient experience, from the color and design of the marble tile in our restrooms to the snack selection in our patient lounge. SB: Newport Beach was chosen as the flagship location. For someone building a company shaped by California’s health and wellness culture, what does Southern California represent to you personally—and professionally? AJ: CoreViva is fundamentally a wellness company—we are focused on improving not just our patients’ lifespan, but also their “healthspan:” the number of years they spend in good health, living actively and fully. Southern California embod- ies this mindset, where individuals are deeply invested in their long-term well-being through preventive health, active lifestyles, and healthy habits. That philosophy is perhaps reflected best right in our backyard in Loma Linda, one of only five designated “Blue Zones” in the world. Furthermore, as an American-Born Chinese (ABC), I am proud to be part of and serve the Asian American community here in Orange County. For immigrants and the children of immigrants, navigating the American healthcare system, with its maze of specialists, referrals, and insurance requirements, can be overwhelming. CoreViva simplifies that entirely with one comprehensive MRI scan, rather than a dozen, with follow-up care coordination if needed. SB: What does the future of CoreViva look like, and how do you hope to shape your own legacy? AJ: Our goal as CoreViva and my personal goal is to save 10,000 lives. We are off to a good start—in the roughly eight months that we have been open, we have detected roughly 100 life-threatening conditions in patients, such as cancers and aneurysms, more than 95% of whom were asymptomatic and at an early stage. I plan to leverage our AI innovation and learnings from here in Orange County to scale to other geographies, bring down costs, and maintain unparalleled patient care so that our potentially life-saving screening service can be more broadly available across the U.S. and abroad. CoreViva 4440 Von Karman Avenue #100 Newport Beach, CA 92660 949.228.9797 coreviva.com 113 BALLIET + WANG LUXURY LIVING
