Ronroco I-XXVI
Ronroco
I-XXVI。 Gustavo
Santo、Myrrh、 Douglas Fir。
Ronroco I-XXVI
To mark the opening, the house is introducing a U.S. exclusive:
Ronroco I-XXVI, a scent born of a friendship between Bedel and
the Oscar-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla. Both are self-
taught Argentine artists who left their homeland in pursuit of
their craft, and both share what can only be called a sensibility:
rooted in origin, wood, resonance, patience. The ronroco itself
is a small stringed instrument from the Andean highlands of
Bolivia and Chile, and Santaolalla has spent decades transform-
ing it from a regional folk voice into something globally lyrical.
For the perfume, Bedel carried the instrument into the Fueguia
laboratory. He studied its body, decomposed its timbers and
resins into their aromatic signatures, then reassembled them as
scent. The heart rests on Copal, Oud Chaco, and Salvia del Monte:
ceremonial, resinous, cool as mountain air. Around it, Cedarwood,
Patchouli, Rose, Incense, Elemi, Palo Santo, Myrrh, Douglas Fir.
The composition reads less like a fragrance list than a score.
On May 5, Santaolalla performed live inside the gallery—the
instrument that became the perfume played in the room that
holds it. 
