他最初在俄亥俄州通过 TikTok 发布调漆视频：画面极具观赏性，令

其说是一场社交媒体上的走红，不如说是一场真正意义上的审美运
动。2021年，他将这股势能正式创立为 Tonester Paints；而后的一

当 Tony 看到 Phoenix 的视频时，他并没有只是点个赞了事。他直
接转发并提出，要为这些石材量身定制专属色彩。一次对话，最终演
变成四种颜色；四种颜色，最终汇聚成 Rare Earth；而 Rare Earth，
也成为当下设计界最受瞩目的系列之一。
这一系列中的四种色调，皆直接取样自具体的天然石材，不是近似模
拟，不是灵感借鉴，而是由材质本身反向推演而来。其目标，不只是还
原石材的色泽，更是捕捉它的性格：正午与暮色之下光线落在表面的
不同状态；纹理如何随着观看角度变化而呈现深浅层次；某些矿物仿
佛自内而外透出微光，而另一些则沉静地吸纳周遭一切。
It started, as so many great things do these days, with a com-
ment section.
Phoenix Grey, designer, tastemaker, chronic renovator of 
beautiful spaces, posted a video. He was searching for the 
perfect paint color to match the stone slabs he’d selected for 
his apartment renovation. The stones were extraordinary: 
mineral-rich, moody, pulled from the earth with all the 
drama that implies. The paint to match them, apparently, did 
not yet exist.
Enter Tony Piloseno.
If you haven’t followed Tonester Paints yet, here is your 
introduction: Tony is the kind of person who looks at a 
bucket of paint the way a chef looks at a pristine piece of 
fish. With reverence. With ideas. With an almost unsettling 
level of enthusiasm that turns out, upon closer inspection, 
to be completely justified. He started making paint-mixing 
videos on TikTok from Ohio: hypnotic, oddly satisfying clips 
that amassed millions of followers and sparked something 
that looked less like a social media moment and more like a 
movement. In 2021, he turned that movement into Tonester 
Paints, and the rest, as they say, is on the walls.
When Tony saw Phoenix’s post, he didn’t just like it. He 
stitched the video and offered to develop custom shades 
tailored exactly to those stones. One conversation became 
four colors. Four colors became Rare Earth, and that became 
the collection everyone in the design world is talking about 
right now.
Each of the four shades was pulled directly from a spe-
cific natural stone, not approximated, not inspired-by, but 
reverse-engineered from the material itself. The goal was to 
capture not just the color of stone, but also its character: 
the way it holds light at noon versus dusk, the way veining 
creates depth that shifts depending on where you stand, the 
way certain minerals seem to glow from within while others 
absorb everything around them.
